Donations

We are a voluntary organisation and rely entirely on donations and money raised from various fundraising projects. We need your financial help to continue to rescue, care for and find homes for the Galgos.

We do not receive any funding from the Government or local authority and all the help we receive is voluntary.

Many a galgo or podenco comes into care in tragic circumstances, poorly, wounded and skeletal. Aside from injuries which need curing, they at times need a limb amputated. Their will to survive is immense and it is our promise to them to heal their wounds and mend their hearts and find a forever home for them. The ultimate goal!

Achieving this is not cheap - stable rent, food, general vet care, it all has a price tag and without donations from kind hearted people, the Galgos would not make it to their ultimate goal. We need your help, the Galgos need your help!

Gifts

We have various anti-escape (Martingale) collars for sale at a price of 15€ (as above). We highly recommend that Galgos are walked in these collars only because of the simple fact they don't allow the collar to come over the dogs head if they pull back. Galgos have a finer head than a normal dog so a normal collar is not suitable and risks their escape. On particularly scared Galgos, we advise 2 collars and 2 leads.
Stunning anti-escape collars with figures of Galgos designed and made by hand. Showing the beauty of a Galgo! 20 euros + shipping

Events

We have held several fundraising events, one of which is the annual Fiesta de Galgos. We created the Fiesta de Galgos as a way of promoting and celebrating the breed as pets. The next Fiesta de Galgos date is to be confirmed.

Also the Jump for Freedom. Lisa jumped 15,000ft from an aircraft to parachute down to the ground in the name of this precious breed and to help raise funds for 112 Carlota Galgos.
